A senior Barcelona player has revealed that facing Arsenal will be one of their most difficult tests in the Champions League this season.

Speaking to Spanish publication Marca, Jordi Alba revealed that Arsene Wenger’s men are expected to fight for their place in the quarter-finals of the competition and therefore, the Catalans are not looking forward to an easy fixture. Arsenal booked a date with the Spanish giants after finishing second in their Champions League group.

During the interview, the Spain international revealed:

“They (Arsenal) are a very complicated opponent who from midfield to the forwards have players who are very good with the ball,”

“I’m sure they’ll make things difficult. Every year is different but this time it will be made more complicated by the players Arsenal have.”

Also, Arsenal secretary David Miles was optimistic that the England giants could overturn things despite their poor record against their Spanish counterparts. He said:

"If you ask Arsenal fans, this is probably the tie we least wanted against Barcelona.''

He added:

"The last few times we've played them they've always had the upper hand, so maybe this is the right time to turn the tables and beat them."

The Gunners have crashed out of the last round of 16 in their last five consecutive attempts

Former Catalan Alexis Sanchez is expected to rally the English side at home against his former team on February 23, 2016 before travelling to Spain on March 26, 2016 for the return fixture.
