Barcelona star forward Lionel Messi resumed training on Friday after missing Thursday’s session due to what was described as ''personal reasons.’’

His conspicuous absence on Thursday raised eyebrows, given the fact that he had just returned from injury last month. There were speculations that the Argentine had picked up yet another injury ahead of their weekend game against Derpotivo La Coruna.

Messi dismissed the rising fears of a possible injury by turning up for the training session on Thursday and looked fit enough to face their weekend opponents.

Despite missing crucial matches for Barca this season due to injury, Leo has scored four La Liga goals in nine appearances for The Blaugrana.

Meanwhile, his teammate Neymar Jr, who is part of the famous MSN attacking trio, is set to miss Barca’s next few games due to a minor groin strain, according to Barca’s official website. The Brazil international, who is also a Ballon d’Or nominee, picked up the injury during Barca’s training session at the Bay Arena before their Champions League fixture against Bayern Leverkusen.
