The former Chelsea player believes the team needs to believe in their chances of re-writing Wolfsburg's history in European competitions.

Wolfsburg need only one point to seal their spot in the UEFA Champions League's knockout stage, and even though the challenge ahead could seem complicated, World Champion Andre Schürrle wants his team-mates to believe in their chances.

"When you speak about United, you speak about a big club and you know they have great players. We know we will get chances, and if we convert our opportunities we can have a great game against a great club. We know it's a big opportunity for us to write history for Wolfsburg and hopefully we will leave as the winners," Schürrle told the press during the pre-match press conference.

The German player has only scored one goal for Wolfsburg in the competition, although he has only been able to start two games for the Wolves.

The player, who had an unsuccessful stint with Chelsea, stated he was "surprised" by the Red Devils' lack of goals, but that doesn't mean they will have an easy match on Tuesday.

"It's surprising that they are struggling to score goals, but they have amazing players and they know where the goal is, so we've got to be very careful. I wouldn’t say that style is easier to play against, it’s just different. But we know how to play against this style. We have to be aggressive to get the ball," the player added.

Manchester United needs to win ay Volkswagen Arena to make it to the knockout stage. If the game ends up with a draw, PSV Eindhoven could eliminate them from the Round of 16 with a win against CSKA.
