The former Los Blancos shot-stopper revealed in an interview that the Italian striker has always wanted to play for the Spanish giants.

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego López tackled a number of issues during an interview with a Spanish newspaper. Among the many topics López talked about, he referred to his relationship with Iker Casillas, how he feels about José Mourinho, and particularly, Mario Balotelli. The Spanish goalie assured that the Italian bad boy would be glad to join Real Madrid at any point of his career.

"Mario is not as badass as you may think. In fact, he has told me it would be a dream come true for him to play for Real Madrid one day," López stated.

Balotelli, currently sidelined by a groin injury, recently returned to Italy after an unsuccessful one-year stint with Liverpool. While he recovers from a recent surgery to correct his problem, the player shared a picture via his Instagram account, letting fans know how he's doing.

The player was involved in a controversial incident surrounding Real Madrid, when he decided to swap jerseys with center back Pepe during their Champions League clash at Anfield. Balotelli was subbed immediately by then-coach Brendan Rodgers, and was apparently handed a fine by the team, since players are not allowed to exchange their jerseys while on the pitch.

Balotelli signed a one-year contract with the Rossoneri, after failing to impress Liverpool fans and execs. Although Milan supporters are happy with the idea of having him around, only his performances will determine if the Italian team try to sign him once again for good.
