According to a report published on the Independent on Monday, Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola could replace Luis Van Gaal at Manchester United this summer when his contract with the German club expires. The report further suggests that Pep, 44, has been contacted by three top Premier League clubs over the possibility of managing them when he leaves Bayern, but Manchester United seem to be his most preferred destination in England.
However, the Spanish manager could postpone his move to England until the summer of 2017 when both Van Gaal and Arsene Wenger are expected to resign. If that happens, then he will have more options to choose from in England.
Barely two months ago, the well-travelled manager had been linked with a move to Chelsea when the embattled Jose Mourinho was expected to leave the defending champions after a series of disappointing performances.
But the chances of replacing his old foe, who was the manager of Real Madrid when Guardiola was coaching their rivals FC Barcelona, are quite slim. Club owner Roman Abramovic recently expressed his confidence in the Portuguese tactician despite the string of poor results that saw the Blues languish at the bottom quarter of the Premier League table.
It has been rumoured that Pep Guardiola could become @MCFC's next boss, but it's @ManUtd he reportedly prefers. https://t.co/UCobCvG7t3

However, whether Pep joins the Red Devils or not, his chances of managing a Premier League club next summer are still high.
