It’s do or die for the Gunners, but injuries to several key players may derail their European campaign.

It’s do or die for Arsenal in Tuesday’s round of Champions League fixtures.

The Gunners, having lost three of their four opening fixtures, need to secure a win against Dinamo Zagreb and hope Bayern Munich beat Olmypiakos at the Allianz Arena.

If Pep Guardiola’s crew fail to beat the Greek giants, then the Gunners’ European campaign is all over, and the north London giants will crash out of this year’s tournament in the group stage for the first time since 1999.

Wenger’s boys have not been in the best of form. Saturday’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to West Brom means that Alexis Sanchez and Co. have won only one of their last five games in all competitions, having lost three.

Victory is the only outcome that Le Prof can hope for. Anything less, and Arsenal are out of the competition. However, sealing a win may prove a difficult hurdle to overcome given their current injury crisis.

Team News

Key defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin injured his knee in their Hawthorns defeat, and will be out for 2 months.

This means that the Frenchman joins Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky, and Aaron Ramsey on the sidelines, though the Welsh midfielder could be in contention for Tuesday’s game.

Over to the Modri’s camp, and Zoran Mamic will be without defender Josip Pivaric, who is suspended after being sent off in their last game, and Arijan Ademi, who was banned for four years after failing a drug test.

Key stats

Arsenal have conceded a whopping 10 goals this term alone, a number second worst to only Maccabi Tel Aviv and BATE with a tally of 11 each.

Furthermore, Arsenal will be playing at home. They won their last match at the Emirates, a 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich, but have not been able to win two consecutive home games since 2012.

But the stats are not all bleak for Wenger’s crew. In their last meeting prior to this season, Arsenal came out victorious 5-1, winning the away tie 3-0 and the return leg 2-1.

In addition, the Croatian giants have not won any of their last 11 away games, and their 2-1 victory over the Gunners was their one and only triumph in history over an English side.
