Argentinean striker Mauro Icardi is one of Jürgen Klopp's top choices to join the Reds' striking force, following his rumored transfer to Chelsea a few months ago.

22-year-old striker Mauro Icardi may be living his final months with Inter Milan, as Liverpool is ready to make a 35 million euro bid to sign the former Sampdoria forward. Icardi, who enjoyed his fair share of success last season with the Neroazzurri, could be moving to Anfield during the upcoming transfer window.

Sources indicate that Jürgen Klopp wants the player to join the Reds as soon as possible, since he believes the South American's skills could fit just fine to the team's needs. The player was one of José Mourinho's transfer targets during the summer, but his inconsistent form this year might have cooled down the Blues' interest in signing him.

This weekend, Icardi scored his 4th goal of the season against Frosinone, helping Roberto Mancini's crew to reach the top of the Serie A.

Sources also state that, if Icardi can find his goal scoring shoes just like he did last season, the Reds would be willing to add another 10 million euros to their big to sign Icardi. Nevertheless, if the South American player can't return to his previous form, Klopp would choose to wait for the summer to make a run for him.

This is Icardi's third season with the Neroazzurri, where he has scored 36 goals in 64 matches. Last year, Icardi netted the ball 22 times, but he could not help an ailing Inter Milan side that ended without European football for the ongoing season.
