According to Catalan newspaper Sport, Barcelona's supporters would rather watch 'La Pulga' play only if it's necessary.

Lionel Messi may have made it just in time to play El Clásico, but most of the team's supporters would be careful about starting the Argentine ace against Real Madrid.

A poll conducted by Catalan newspaper Sport revealed that 3 out of every four Barça fans would start the game against Los Blancos without Lionel Messi on the pitch, basically because a relapse could mean much more damage for his left knee. Four thousand fans voted in the website's poll, with 79% saying "no" to the possibility of Messi starting, maybe becaue they care way too much about the Argentinean's health, or maybe because the team has done so well without him during the past months. Only 762 voters thought it was a good idea to start him at Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

"Messi is ready, but he's not 100% fit"

Coach Luis Enrique spoke about Lionel Messi's situation, revealing that "La Pulga" is set to play the game, although he chose not to say if he will start the game or not. Considering the amount of time he spent off the pitch, the Spanish coach dismissed the idea of a full recovery for the Argentine.

"Messi is OK, but he is not 100% fit. Being such an important player for us, it's always a good thing to have him around. We'll have a word with him after today's training session and decide depending on how he feels after it," the coach explained.
