Real Madrid is currently in second place of La Liga and three points behind Barcelona. Benitez has only lost one game this season as a head coach.

Patience is not a word that seems to appear in the vocabulary of Florentino Perez as there are reports suggesting that he could fire Rafa Benitez if the Spaniard does not lead Real Madrid to victory in El Clasico. The president of Los Merengues seems to be ready to put Zinedine Zidane in his place in case Barcelona wins.

The game this Saturday could give Madrid the chance to regain the lead of La Liga (in case they win) or it could give Barcelona a six point lead in case they are the ones that come out victorious. A draw would keep the same three-point difference there is between both teams right now.

Benitez is focused on doing his job this Saturday

Perez does not seem to want to wait longer if things get out of hand right now. With Barcelona having won six of their last seven games in all competitions, Luis Enrique's team seems to be playing better right now. The president of Real Madrid may not want to risk and have to wait to see if things work with Benitez.

But Zidane has made it clear that he does not want to come in once the season has already started. The former star for Los Blancos, that currently coaches Real Madrid Castilla, would like to be in charge of the team from the beginning of the season. Zizou does not seem interested in becoming a heroe halfway through the season.

"Harry Potter," as he was called by the Chilean commentator Luis Omar Tapia, was the assistant for Carlo Ancelotti during his first season as a head coach for the team from Madrid. After having some issues with his coaching license, he finally got it all cleared by May of 2015, making him elegible to become a head coach.

Zizou is doing a good job with Real Madrid's academy team

He would not want to see Leo take the field at the Santiago Bernabeu

In case Zidane does not accept an offer from Florentino to start working as the leader of the team in the 13th week of La Liga, he already has a plan "B". Victor Fernández, Real Madrid's director of Youth Academy could be the man selected to work as the head coach for the reminder of the season.

It all seems like the 1998 World Cup Champion with France will get his chance to coach Real Madrid rather sooner than later. None of this speculations will take place in case Rafa Benitez wins in his first El Clasico as the head coach of Real Madrid, because in the 1993-1994 season he was the assistant coach.
