It is the clash of the titans, two of football’s most idolized, attacking teams going head-to-head, South America biggest, most succesful nations clashing. It is Argentina vs Brazil.

The two sides will lock horns this Thursday in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, with La Albiceleste hosting the Selecao at Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio.

NOTICEThe match was supposed to take place at 19:00 ET / 21:00 local time on Thursday, November 12th. However, due to the terrible flooding of the pitch, the game got postponed. Argentina vs Brazil will now take place at the same time on Friday, November 13, 2015 as confirmed by the FIFA World Cup's official Twitter account:

Victories in these epic encounters are split even, with the five-time World Cup champions’ 2-0 win over the 2015 Copa America runners-up in Beijing back in 2014 taking the tally to 36 wins each.

However, this time around, when the two giants meet, the affair may be one-sided, and this prediction is down to the presence of one man for Dunga’s crew, and the absence of a few names from Gerardo Martino’s side.

Brazil will be welcoming back star captain Neymar, having served his four-match ban, with coach Dunga calling up the 23-year-old for their next two fixtures.

The road to Russia began with a disappointment, with Brazil losing 2-0 to Copa America champions Chile. Their campaign kick started in their second tie, however, with the Selecao grabbing a 3-1 win over Venezuela.

The Brazil skipper has been in sizzling form this campaign, netting 11 goals for Barca in La Liga, 10 in his last seven appearances for the Blaugrana, and has registered 32 goals since November of last year.

On the other hand, Argentina, who also fell to a 2-0 opening day defeat to Ecuador, are struggling with form in the absence of their influential captain Lionel Messi, who has been on the sidelines with a knee injury since late September.

The Blaugrana superstar was joined by Sergio Aguero on the injured list, having suffered a torn hamstring to his left leg, with Boca Juniors forward Carlos Tevez also doubt for the game having hurt his left knee.
