In what should be quite an exciting match, Thomas Tuchel's side will host Schalke, as both sides struggle to keep themselves among the top four teams in the Bundesliga. Check out our guide for this game below.

Sunday's biggest Bundesliga clash will feature two of this season's top performers, when Borussia Dortmund does Schalke 04 the honors at Signal Iduna Park. Thomas Tuchel's crew, fresh off a 4-0 Europa League win against Qabala, will want to repeat their recent performance against Die Knappen, even if Andre Breitenreiter's men represent a serious threat to their current three-game winning streak.

Fans around the world can expect a very levelled match, as stats show there has only been one goal-less draw between them in their last six games.

Borussia Dortmund

After Tuchel's side was destroyed by Bayern Munich, the yellow-and-black side has won their most recent three games, including a 3-1 win over Werder Bremen. The post-Jürgen Klopp era for Dortmund has started with good vibrations, giving their new coach a variety of options to hurt their opponents. Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundögan have shown stints of their class, and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang's form has impressed all of Europe's experts. Curiously enough, last week's game against Bremen was the first one for Aubameyang without any goals scored.

Schalke 04

The Royal Blues will have to put up a good show against their hosts, following a 1-1 draw against Sparta Prague on Thursday evening. Lately, Breitenreiter's men have had their fair share of good results playing away from home, but whenever they face a top-caliber contender, their numbers are not as solid. Schalke's latest away losses came against Wolfsburg (3-0) and facing Borussia Moenchengladbach (3-1), while victories against Stuttgart and Hamburger have paved their way up the Bundesliga rankings. In order to boost their chances, Klaas Jan Huntelaar will have to try harder, since the Dutch striker has only been able to send the ball into the back of the net two times.

Head to head

The "RevierDerby" never has a clear favorite to win it, as recent games show. Schalke 04 has the upper hand in the most recent games, winning three, drawing one and losing two. Their last meeting saw Dortmund win 3-0, with goals scored by Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan and Reus.

Here's an in-depth look at the RevierDerby stats.
