Qabala is one of two teams still alive since the first qualifying round. A win for Dortmund could give them the chance to qualify for the next round.

Borussia Dortmund looks for its ticket to the next round which could come if they win and Krasnodar beat PAOK in the other match of Group C. They will host Qabala, a very strong team in their domestic league in Azerbajan, but a very weak side when it comes to Europa League action.

It's a match between the best and the worst team in the group. One team has won two games while the other one has yet to win a match. They both have one draw after the first round of the group stage. The last time they met, it was in Qabala's home turf and Dortmund was able to get a 3-1 win at Bakcell Arena. 

Dortmund knows how important a victory in this game can be. They have confidence on beating a team that could not even dominate them in their own ground. The team wants to have a boost in their morale before their game against Schalke. If they play well and get the result they want, they can dream big against Schalke.

Erik Durm has been definitely ruled out and Nuri Sahin may be sitting out as well. Both of them have knee issues that do not allow them to practice with the rest of the team. The decision on whether Sahin plays or not will be made as game time approaches.

Qabala FK has the worst defense in Group C. They have received five goals and only scored twice in three games. They are only three points behind second place Krasnodar, giving them still a chance to make a late run towards the knockout stages.

The great thing about Qabala is that they are one of the two teams that have made it this far after having to go through all the different qualifying stages towards this tournament. They play 90 minutes away from their original home ground but still have created a decent impression in this European competition. 

Away from home, Qabala has struggled. They have not won any of their last five games on the road (D2, L3). Olexiy Gai, Qabala's midfielder, looks for a good showing from his team and hopefully a win the day he turns 33-year-old. It could be complicated against a coach (Thomas Tuchel) that has not lost any of their last seven games in European competition  (W6, D1). 

This will only be the second time these two sides have ever met. What they learned from playing each other last month, is probably all they have as clear knowledge from the opposition. Dortmund is clearly aiming to get past the group stage after failing to do so in the 2010-2011 season.
