On Wednesday, German giants Barcelona will host Arsenal in a highly-anticipated UEFA Champions League encounter.
The Bundesliga champions, having been defeated 2-0 in the away clash with the Gunners, will be looking to inflict revenge on Arsene Wenger’s crew, with the London giants bringing a halt to die Roten’s unbeaten record in all competitions this season.
With the game etching closer, a bombshell was dropped on Tuesday claiming that the Spanish manager came close to signing for Arsenal.
According to James Olley of the Evening Standard, Le Prof met with Guardiola while he was still a player, and made attempts to lure him to the English Premier League.
The then Barcelona midfielder was also keen on joining Arsenal, but instead ended up transferring to Serie A, where he played for Brescia and Roma before eventually retiring.

After the failed move, Wenger turned to a teenager by the name of Cesc Fabregas, a move which worked out quiet well for the Gunners.
The former Blaugrana boss can join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Yaya Toure on the list of players Wenger ALMOST signed.
