Portuguese giants Benfica are hoping to avenge their only loss in this season’s UEFA Champions League as they host their Turkish counterparts Galatasaray on Tuesday.

The Turkish side beat Benfica 2-1 at home two weeks ago to halt the Portuguese champions’ unbeaten run in Group C. While Galatasaray are looking to proceed with the good run away in Portugal, Benfica coach Rui Vitoria believes that his side will emerge victorious in this fixture. Benfica have won 12 and lost just one of their last 16 European home matches. The Eagles will be boosted by their recent 4-0 win away to Tondela on Friday ahead of Tuesday’s encounter.

Galatasaray’s victory over weekday opponents a fortnight ago was their first win in European matches. But coach Hamza Hamzaoglu believes that his side can still qualify if they win against Atletico Madrid and Benfica away from home. The Turkish outfit have not lost in their last eight matches in all competitions, having beaten Eskisehirspor 4-0 on Thursday to ascend to the second position in the Turkish Super League. They are now two points behind league leaders Besiktas.
