The former Man United and Real Madrid striker assured the best is yet to come for him, since Roger Schmidt has trusted him with a starting spot with Bayer Leverkusen.

All he needed was more minutes on the pitch.

Once he joined Bayer Leverkusen on Transfer Deadline Day, "Chicharito" Hernández's future seemed to be away from the spotlight, but he has made it his duty to silence all his haters, and those who doubted there were still good games left in his legs.

In an interview, Hernández showed that Roger Schmidt's trust has paid off, even if he missed a couple of incredible chances when he was getting used to play with his new team-mates. In fact, "Chicharito" is not worried by the criticism coming from his home country, where fans have a field day trolling him whenever he fails to send the ball into the back of the net.

"I'm truly blessed and very lucky. If you look closely into my career, most of my 'low points' came when I was benched at Manchester United and Real Madrid. Now that I'm playing more frequently, all those 'low points' will be gone. I know people blast me for missing one chance, even if I score a brace, but haters are gonna hate. I'm very lucky to be here, learning a new language, and working with a team that's eager to win trophies, that's enough fuel to keep me motivated," Hernández stated.

Chicharito has scored seven goals in nine games for Die Werkself since he joined them on August 31.

Recently, newly appointed El Tri coach Juan Carlos Osorio travelled to Leverkusen to have a word with the striker. Chicharito, who is about to become Mexico's all-time top scorer, stated he will have to work even harder if he wants to keep scoring goals for his National Team.

"Well, we have to keep working hard. He was kind enough to come and visit me, but that doesn't mean my spot with Mexico is secure. I want to work with him as soon as possible," Hernández added.

Earlier today, "Chicharito" showed off his skills against Viktoria Köln, scoring a brace during Leverkusen's 6-0 win.
