The retired Czech midfielder played eight seasons for Juventus, scoring sixty-five goals for the bianconeri side.

Juventus' supporters can be sure their team's future will be overlooked closely by one of their most beloved former players. Today, during the General Shareholders Meeting in Turin, club officers revealed that former midfielder Pavel Nedved, who won the 2003 Ballon D'Or while playing for La Vecchia Signora, will become the team's new vice president, following the team's performances on the pitch closely.

The team revealed the news to its supporters via their Twitter feed.

Nedved, a passionate Juventus supporter, has been part of the team's Board of Directors since 2012, after one of the shareholders' nominated him for a seat two years earlier. The former Czech midfielder became one of the most beloved figures in the team's history after he refused to sign with another club during the "Calciopoli" scandal in 2006, which forced the bianconeri to play in the Serie B for one season.

Once his new role with the team was confirmed, the player addressed all of the team's supporters.

“My message to the fans is a simple one. I ask them to stay united and continue to support the team and in the end, we’ll get results together. I’m still going to be in daily contact with the coach and the players because it is on field matters where I feel that I can help the club the most," Nedved stated.

Juventus will play against Atalanta this weekend, hoping to set their season straight after a complicated start.
