The Belgian wingman has disappointed Chelsea fans throughout the season with poor performances both in the Premier League and the Champions League. Is there a reason to it?

Eden Hazard has not been the same player he was last season. It's a fact and he even talks about it. But why has the Belgian star underperformed this year? Did he forget his magic shoes under the bed and forgot about them? Apparently, he's not capable of finding a suitable reason.

"This is the first time in my career that I have had such a difficult spell like this. I can't really explain it. All I know is that I will need to work hard in order to bounce back," Hazard stated in an interview.

Hazard has played eight Premier League games so far this season, scoring no goals and providing two assists. But then again, the Belgian playmaker could only be replicating last year's form, considering he was only able to score a couple of goals during the same time frame. Furthermore, Hazard had assisted his team-mates twice in the league's first games. A coincidence?

Despite of all their problems, Hazard believes Chelsea can still turn this around. In fact, he stands by José Mourinho during these complicated times.

"At Chelsea we have concerns both as a team and individually. We all thought our recent win against Arsenal would give us lift-off - but instead we fell straight back into our bad ways. I am not too worried for him - Mourinho is the best coach in the world when it comes to dealing with pressure. I am an optimist, and I know I can learn a lot from tough spells," the player added.

Did Mourinho cast a spell over Hazard?

Chelsea's Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho spoke about his player before the tournament started, revealing he believed Hazard was a better player than Cristiano Ronaldo. Given his complicated relationship with Real Madrid's ace, this shouldn't have shocked anyone, but ever since he spoke his mind comparing both players, Cristiano Ronaldo's numbers may have declined, but Hazard's performances have been quite disappointing.

Even fans have noticed Hazard's complicated season.
