The good news is that France won its third game in a row on Thursday against Armenia, but the bad news is that Karim Benzema will be out for the next three weeks with a hamstring injury. Benzema had just recovered from a strain by the end of August and will now have to deal with something else.
The bad news of Benzema's injury not only affects France, it hurts Real Madrid even more. The team of Rafa Benitez has a very important Champions League game coming up against Paris Saint-Germain and the French striker won't be able to participate.
Before that, Karim will miss the next friendly that his team has scheduled against Denmark. France does not have to compete for a spot in the Euro Qualifiers as they will be the ones hosting the competition next summer.
The magnitude of the injury was confirmed just moments earlier
Karim @Benzema spent Friday morning in Nice clinic to undergo an MRI that confirmed he suffers from a grade 1 injury in the left hamstring.

It only took Benzema two minutes to score two goals in Thursday's match. Before him, Antoine Griezmann and Yohan Cabaye had given France a comfortable 2-0 lead that the Real Madrid striker then doubled.
French people hope that some of the initial reports are wrong
Didier Deschamps on Karim Benzema injury: "Karim felt a twinge to his hamstring, I hope it’s nothing serious. We'll know more tomorrow."
