The charismatic former BVB boss put pen to paper on a three-year deal, and entertained the media in his unveiling on Friday.

Weeks of speculation came to an end on Thursday evening, as English Premier League giants announced the signing of German manager Jurgen Klopp.

The former BVB boss was linked with the Reds immediately after news that Brendan Rodgers was sacked broke, with the 48-year-old putting pen to paper on a three-year deal five days after Rodgers’ departure from Anfield.

Fans of the club were excited to see Klopp at Liverpool, and rightly so, as the German manager promised to inject “full-throttle” football into the underperforming side, saying:

“Firstly, I would like to offer thanks to the ownership of Liverpool Football Club for showing faith in me and my staff and presenting us with this wonderful opportunity. They have presented to me a very clear vision and I share their ambitions and model of work.

“I am very excited by the challenge we face and eager to start the job and begin implementing our ideas and ways of working with this team. This is a talented group of players and there is still much to compete for this season.

“Winning is important but so is how you win and how you play the game. I believe in a playing philosophy that is very emotional, very fast and very strong. My teams must play at full throttle and take it to the limit every single game.”

Klopp, known for his charisma and his usual on-field explosions, endured an entertaining first ever press conference in England, promising to bring a title to Liverpool within the next four years.

“I haven’t met my team yet. [My style is] emotion inside, it’s speed, it’s a transition game. All the things that make football interesting for me I want to see on the pitch. But it’s not the day for promising a certain style of football. Let’s start to work, let’s speak next week, let’s start normal work,” said Klopp, as he was unveiled to the media.
