The team is leading the Western Conference with 50 points in 31 games. It was Bruce Arena's 113th win as a manager in a regular season game.

The three designated players of Los Angeles Galaxy were on target during their game against FC Dallas at the StubHub Center, leading their team to a dramatic 3-2 win. Bruce Arena's team was always in control of the game but had to endure a very dangerous opponent that fought until the last minute to attempt a draw.

It seemed that it would be an easy win for L.A. as they were already up 2-0 before the 15th minute. In the first goal, Irishman Robbie Keane set up the Mexican Giovanni dos Santos for the first goal of the night. Just three minutes later, Dos Santos did the same for Keane as the former Spur scored his 16th goal of the season.

Oscar Pareja's team did not want to fall for the second straight game, and their reaction came thanks to a long ball that Michael Barrios headed over Galaxy's goalkeeper. Just before halftime, Dallas was back in the game 2-1.

The home side went after a bigger lead and they got it thanks to Steven Gerrard. The English player was standing at the right place at the right time as Jesse Gonzalez had stopped a shot that bounced off him and went straight to Gerrard. The 35-year old midfielder just pushed the ball in for a 3-1 lead.

It took a while for Dallas to react again, but they did thanks to Atiba Harris who might have been offside but just pushed the ball in with five minutes to go. Galaxy held on to that one goal lead and jumped into first place of the Western Conference with its 14th win of the season.

It was also a special night for Bruce Arena, setting an MLS record of 113 regular season victories. Now L.A. Galaxy has 50 points after 31 games. They passed both Dallas and Vancouver with that win and are also ahead of the New York Red Bulls in the overall standings.

17 years without a title may soon be over for Steven Gerrard. While this is his first year in the MLS, he has landed in the most successful club in this league. The defending champions are closing in on a sixth title for the franchise in a league that is not even 20-years old.
