The Special One is being investigated by the FA for allegedly calling the female doctor a “daughter of a wh**e”.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho continues to deny allegations that he aimed a sexually-charged insult at Eva Carneiro in the club’s 2015-16 English Premier League opening game.

A public complaint has been submitted over the Portuguese manager’s alleged sexist remarks, a claim which is being investigated by the English FA, with the Special One accused of calling the Gibraltarian doctor a “daughter of a wh**e” in Portuguese.

Jose claims, however, that he instead said “son of a b***h”, which sounds similar to the aforementioned insult that the manager is believed to have used.

However, video footage provided by the complainant, which has been analyzed by “native Portuguese speakers”, apparently shows the former Real Madrid using the feminine version of the insult at Carneiro.

Offensive language from players and coaches is punishable under FA rule, and the 52-year-old tactician could face a minimum of a five-match touchline ban if found guilty due to reference to gender.

The insult was believed to have been targeted directly at Eva Carneiro because Mourinho said it in Portuguese, a language spoken by both the manager and doctor.

Furthermore, the insult is said to be more offensive when said in Portuguese, according to the complainant, who stated

“… It could be considered that the offensive comment was aimed at the club doctor specifically as she speaks Portuguese. By all accounts, the equivalent to this expression in English would be “son of a bitch” in the masculine, but “daughter of a whore” in the feminine.

“We have been advised by a native Portuguese speaker that when directed to a man, it is usually taken to mean that he is a person without scruples. However, in Portugal a woman would take this as being compared to a prostitute or being the daughter of one. Therefore it is considered an extremely offensive insult to be directed to a woman.”

The row between Mourinho and Carneiro sparked in the aftermath of Chelsea’s opening day 2-2 draw with Swansea, a game in which the boss slammed the then first-team doctor for being “impulsive and naïve” for rushing on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard. A demotion for the 42-year-old subsequently followed.
