The Brazilian left back believes his compatriot should be considered one step ahead of CR7 and Lionel Messi, given the skills and maturity he's shown on the pitch.

One of Brazil's most respected footballers of all time shared his thoughts about A Canarinha's leader. Former left back Roberto Carlos praised his compatriot Neymar, stating that Barcelona's Number 11 should be considered the best footballer in the world, dismissing Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in that race.

"People always talk about Cristiano and Messi, but I think Neymar is the best. What Neymar does for Barcelona is better, because the team's already built. Brazil is putting together a team for the Copa América, so, Neymar can't shine as much as he does for Barcelona, but I believe he is the best player around," the former defender stated.

Despite all the criticism Neymar has endured following his disappointing performances with Brazil, the well-known Real Madrid supporter went even further to explain why Neymar has not shown what he's capable of with the National Team, hinting that his best form will come when someone else is there to back him up.

"Neymar plays more like himself here at Barça because being the leader for Brazil is too much responsibility for him. He's more comfortable with Messi and Suárez alongside him," the legendary player concluded.
