The aftermath of Saturday's Premier League clash for Manchester City was not pleasant. Star striker Sergio Aguero will have to sit out the first match of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage, according to the Citizens manager, Manuel Pellegrini.
According to the Chilean manager, Agüero kept some hopes of being available for Tuesday's game, but his medical staff decided to keep him under surveillance to prevent any further damage to the affected area.
"Sergio also is not fit for tomorrow. He has a kick in his knee. It is difficult for him," the Chilean boss stated.
The player shared his thoughts on Twitter after his absence was confirmed.
It's shame that I won't get to play tomorrow because of Saturday's tackle. Focused on recovering ASAP.

After not being able to get past the Round of 16 in consecutive seasons, Manchester City's coach stated that the team will have to put up a massive effort in order to reach the next stage of the tournament, and if the draw spares them from meeting Barcelona again, the Chilean would be very pleased.
"We are just thinking to win tomorrow against Juventus and try and qualify as we did in the last two seasons. After that we will see the draw. It is important to have your mind in tomorrow. I hope we will not play against Barcelona in the round of 16 and if we have to play against a strong team in the round of 16 we will see," Pellegrini added.
The Sky Blues will also be playing against Sevilla and Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Group Stage.
