Herrera scored his second goal for Mexico. It was Messi's fourth goal with Argentina in two games.

Mexico seemed to have set the cruise control when they were ahead 2-0 with ten minutes left in the game. What they forgot was that Messi and Aguero were still on the field and before they knew it, Argentina tied the scoreboard in the 89th minute.

El Tri got an early lead with Javier Hernández in the first half thanks to a well-executed penalty kick. As the game continued it was clear that Argentina was posessing the ball for most of the time while Mexico was only waiting to counter-atttack. That way, Chicharito had some clear chances to extend the lead but it didn't work.

It was until the second half that Mexico added another goal for their cause. The team of Ricardo Ferretti, who had not made any substitutions up until that point, got the 2-0 lead thanks to Hector Herrera who shot the ball from outside the big box and impossible for Nahuel Guzman to stop.

Then the things got complicated for Mexico. Tuca sent Carlos Vela to the field instead of Chicharito. Oswaldo Alanis in for Rafa Márquez and Jesus Dueñas for Hector Herrera.

In the 76th minute of action, Tata Martino sent Carlos Tevez out and he was replaced by Manchester City's leading striker Aguero. It took him around eigh minutes for him to make himself noticed. Moises Muñoz, who had been doing a great job up until that point, made a big mistake and Aguero took advantage of it for a 2-1.

Just when everything seemed to be heading to a loss for Argentina and a scoreless game for Messi, La Pulga was in charge of tying the game. It was his fourth goal in less than four days with the National Team. While he was only supposed to play around 30 minutes, he did so from start to finish.

For Martino, Mexico played a game very different from what he had expected. At the same time he was pleased that his team reacted the way it did in the last few minutes of the game.

"I can go back ten years and I am sure that this is the game in which Argentina has had most control of the ball playing against Mexico, a team which usually assumed control of the ball but today that didn't happen."

While Argentinian players did not do interviews after the game, some Mexican footballers did. They were pleased with the fact that they didn't lose but not fully contempt with how the game ran away from their hands.

"We didn't have that physical strenght to keep the same dynamic and we lacked focus but in the end they are things that we must improve on," Rafa Marquez said.

For Chicharito it was nice to score a goal, specially from a penalty kick. In the other end, he would have wanted his 41st goal with the National Team to be a part of a win and not too much of a draw.

"I would rather achieve important things with Mexico instead of scoring goals," Javier said as it has been eleven years since the last time that Mexico beat Argentina.

The game was almost sold out with 82,559 spectators at AT&T Stadium. The turf, which had been a concern for many the day before, seemed to hold up well for the most part. Now Mexico can focus on their game against the U.S. and Argentina looks forward to the World Cup qualifier against Ecuador.
