Reus will miss the games against Scotland and Poland. He will be treated back in Dortmund by Borussia's staff.

Germany has announced that Marco Reus has left the team's camp in Frankfurt with an injury and he will not be available for Germany's upcoming games against Poland and Scotland. The team's doctor Josef Schmitt was the one to confirm the news ahead of Germany's seventh and eighth games in the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying round.

Reus got injured once again

Borussia Dortmund released a statement detailing Reus' situation. It was based on what the National Team officers had told them and apparently Reus had already traveled to camp with the injury.

"Marco sustained an injury - a broken distal phalanx in the big toe of the left foot - before linking up with the national team," was part of what the statement said. ""The pain caused by the injury makes it impossible for him to play in the upcoming internationals."

Reus won't be replaced in the National Team

This is not the first time that Reus is injured when being called up to play for Germany. Injuries in the past two seasons made him miss the chance to represent Germany in the 2014 World Cup. Most of those injuries have been in his ankle, so this is some sort of new territory for Reus.

Reus had a strong start to the 2015-2016 season with Dortmund. The 26-year old player had already scored six goals, helping his team consolidate itself at the top of the Bundesliga with a new manager, Thomas Tuchel.

It is unclear how long will it take for Reus to recover from this one. The optimistic approach is to have him back before the Bundesliga resumes in just over a week. In case his return is delayed longer, Dortmund will mostly count on the Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan to cover Reus' absence.

Reus is confident on a quick recovery
