The Arsenal boss is in the French capital. Will Le Prof be returning to the Emirates with PSG's Cavani?

It is transfer deadline day, and as the whole world has become accustomed to, news of coaches and teams rushing and pulling out all the stops to complete signings are flying.

One of the most interesting reports involves Arsenal, their long-serving manager Arsene Wenger, and Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani.

Le Prof, who had turned his attention to the PSG striker after his hopes of signing Karim Benzema burst, is in Paris, with several news outlets reporting that the Gunners boss is there to finalize a deal for the former Napoli forward.

The Metro, citing the Daily Star, claim Laurent Blanc’s crew have already accepted an offer from the north London side for Cavani worth £45m, £43m being offered upfront with an extra £2m in add-ons.

The report continues on to say the Wenger has flown to Paris to personally negotiate personal terms, with the deal close to being finalized, though it may prove challenging due to the fast approaching transfer deadline.

On the other hand, the Daily Mail reports that on top of Edinson Cavani, Arsenal are also eying a move for midfielder Adrian Rabiot, a promising player who has been extensively scouted by the Gunners.

However, the Daily Mail claim that while Wenger and Co. are chasing after Cavani, a deal for the 28-year-old is highly unlikely to happen given the complications to come along with such a high-profile move.

Furthermore, the BBC have been informed that no transfer deals, both ins and outs, will occur at Parc des Princes, with sources revealing that Arsenal are expecting a "quiet" deadline day.

So far, Petr Cech remains Arsenal’s only signing of the summer. With the clock ticking on the transfer window, only time will tell whether further additions will be made at the Emirates.
