The Dutch manager claimed the goals were the result of mistakes from the whole team. Romero had kept three clean sheets until today.

Louis van Gaal was clear on his post-games press conference that Sergio Romero should not be the one to blame after Manchester United lost on the road to Swansea City 2-1 at Liberty Stadium. While it was a painful loss for the Red Devils that were undefeated after three games, the goalkeeper is not to blame for this one.

Many analysts claim that the new signing of Manchester United could have done more to stop Swansea from scoring. With those two goals, Swansea had enough to turn around a lead that Juan Mata had given the Red Devils. After a quick analysis, Louis van Gaal believed that the mistakes started from their front line.

'You have to see the way the team is defending as a team and then I know what errors has been made," Van Gaal claimed. "What I always say is defending starts in front and not only in the last line."

With all the speculation of David de Gea leaving the club by the end of the transfer deadline, the Dutch Iron is confident that the Argentinian stopper is capable of making improvements over the season. While De Gea was the star last season, he seems to be counting on Romero to occupy his spot moving forward.

'You can write everything you want (about Romero),' van Gaal said. "'At the end, of course, the pressure for the last defender or goalkeeper is always higher."

Now Manchester United fell down to fifth place in the overall standings. The team that actually took their spot was Swansea. The Red Devils now have seven points while Swansea's victory has them now with eight points. Bafetimbi Gomis, the man who scored the second goal for Swansea is among the three topscorers of the league with four goals so far.
