With just one goal dividing them, it will be a tense clash as Bayer Leverkusen welcome Lazio for the second leg of their UCL qualifier on Wednesday, August 26th. Here are some live TV listings & online streaming options for Bayer Leverkusen vs. Lazio.

In their first two previous meetings, duringthe 1999/2000 Champions League group stage, Bayer Leverkusen and Lazio were unable to find a way past each other as they ended up drawing 1-1 in both the home and away legs. However, during last week's meeting at the Stadio Olimpico, young Lazio attacker Keita Balde came on as a substitute to give the Aquile a 1-0 advantage courtesy of a goal in the 77th minute, meaning that Stefano Pioli's men not only head to Germany with a small edge but also have defeated the Bundesliga outfit for the first time in their history.

It indeed was an evenly matched contest, with Lazio slightly edging out Bayer Leverkusen in terms of possession - 53 percent versus 47 percent. However, in terms of attempts on target, it was the hosts with four - double their visitors' total of two, but it was the German side who were by far the more aggressive. Roger Schmidt's men were not afraid to get stuck in, committing 16 fouls opposed to Lazio's 10 and were hence given four yellow cards (compared to the Italian side's two) for their efforts.

Although Keita certainly gave Biancocelesti fans something to cheer about, the team, who also defeated Bologna 2-1 in their Serie A opener this past weekend, will be heading to the BayArena sans the services of four key players. Strikers Filip Djordjevic and Miroslav Klose, as well as goalkeeper Federico Marchetti and captain Lucas Biglia will all be unable to take part in today's match.

Schmidt will also have to make do without some key players, including young Croatian defender Tin Jedvaj - who briefly featured for rival side Roma - and new signing Charles Aranguiz. The Chilean midfielder, who will be featuring in a league outside his native country for the first time, reportedly suffered an achilles tendon rupture during a training session and looks set to spend some time on the treatment table. They have also made it two wins out of two in the 2015/2016 Bundesliga campaign and as a result currently join Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund at the top of the league table.

Key Stats

  • Lazio are featuring in the Champions League play-off rounds for the first time in their history; however, the Biancocelesti have successfully made their way through three play-off rounds in the Europa League.
  • They have not featured in the Champions League since entering the group stages during the 2007/2008 edition.
  • Although Leverkusen have won four out of their last five European home games, their home record against Italian opposition - in seven games - is more evenly split, with three wins, one draw, and three losses.
  • And Lazio are no slouch on the road, having lost just one out of their last 11 away matches in European competition. Their record is four wins, six draws, and one defeat.
  • Their most recent trip to Germany finally ended a four match winless streak as they beat Stuttgart 2-0 in the 2012/2013 Europa League round of 16. Prior to then, Lazio had drawn two and lost two of those games.
  • The win last week was the first time in Lazio's history that they had defeated Bayer Leverkusen. Tonight's meeting will be the fourth between the two sides in European competition.

Will Lazio seal their place in Europe's premier club competition for the first time in eight seasons? Or will Leverkusen rally back to make sure Germany maintain four teams in this season's Champions League.
