After five games, America is in fourth place and Veracruz is in second. The game was pushed 15 minutes back due to a scheduling confilct with a La Liga game.

America will host Veracruz in the Estadio Azteca on Saturday hoping to continue its winning streak. While they are among the top five in the overall standings, Veracruz is currently the runner-up, meaning they are two spots ahead of the team they are visiting.

After losing the first two games, the team of Ignacio Ambriz has recovered and won the next three. Their winning streak is in great danger against a team that knows America quite well. Carlos Reinoso was a legend as a player for America, but while he did not succeed as their coach, he knows the team quite well.

For America it is always important that their two main strikers are accurate when the chances for them to score are being created. Oribe Peralta and Dario Benedetto have taken upon themselves to score most of the goals America has so far.

They have the third best offense in the tournament so far. In five games, they have scored 12 goals, five of them while playing at home and seven on the road. Benedetto is America's leading scorer with five. Oribe follows him with three and Darwin Quintero has two so far.

After receiving five goals in the first two games, Nacho's team has kept a clean sheet in the third, fourth and fifth game of the season. They are the fifth best defense in the tournament while Veracruz is further down in eleventh place. America's differential of +5 is one of the best in the tournament. In a season that is only 17 games long, that number is quite important if they want to make it to the playoffs.

No players out of any of both teams is suspended for the next game. This match had to be pushed back 15 minutes from its original starting time due to a scheduling conflict that TDN had with a game of La Liga between Rayo Vallecano and Valencia.

Reinoso does not deny having feelings for America, a team where he shined as a player and one where the good memories were almost never-ending. He does insist that now his responsibility is to help Veracruz be great and that if they can beat America at their own house, they will do so.

It has become a normal scenario to see Veracruz high up in the standings at the beginning of the season. Sometimes the question is, how long can Veracruz hang on to this. To be in second place, the Tiburones Rojos have won three games, tied in one and lost one in the second week against Leon.

They are coming off one draw against Queretaro at their own home and the last time they were on the road they beat Tijuana 3-1. While their defense hasn't been so strong, ten goals in the first five games is what has give them the chance to be in contention for the lead early in the tournament. A win against America combined with a loss from Leon against Guadalajara could give Veracruz the chance to be in first place.

This is how the top of the table looks like in the Liga MXLiga MX top 5 teams
