Valencia is set to become the fifth Spanish team in the 2015-2016 UEFA Champions League edition. After the first lef of their play-off series against Monaco, Los Naranjeros managed to get a comfortable two-goal lead against the French team, and if stats have a say in this matter, the fourth best team in La Liga last year will be included in the European tournament's draw next week.
All of these wouldn't be possible without Rodrigo's performance. The striker managed to score the first goal of the evening, taking advantage of some poor defending by Monaco's men. All alone in the French team's box, Rodrigo scored the fifth fastest goal in Valencia's European tournament participations. The first half of the match ended with both teams looking for another goal, but this one wouldn't come until after the break, when Mario Pasalic equalized before the 60th minute mark. Later on, Dani Parejo made it 2-1 for the hosts, and just after Matt Ryan denied another goal to Pasalic, Sofiane Feghouli made it 3-1 with an inside-the-box volley.
Fans and experts celebrated Valencia's display moments after the game ended. Have a look at what they said below.
"Valencia has won the first leg of an European matchup 3-1 four times. They held their advantage three times"

Feghouli, linked with Fenerbahçe for the past few days, shows just how valuable he is. Big player for Valencia.
