Suarez stated that his 'desperate need' to win the Champions League was the key factor to help him change sides last summer.

Luis Suarez thinks he is right where he belongs. After just one season with Barcelona, the Uruguayan striker shared his thoughts about his time with Los Blaugranas, where he has already won every tournament they have played in.

According to Suarez, his drive to win the UEFA Champions League was the key factor to sign with Barcelona, despite Liverpool's coach and owners wanted him to stay.

"Leaving Liverpool was the right thing to do. Winning trophies was the main reason why I decided to leave them, and my family was sure it was the best decision possible. Joining the best club in the world has made me one of the happiest footballers on the face of the earth," Suarez revealed in an interview.

"Winning the Champions League was something I desperately needed to do, and doing that during my first season was truly something special. Scoring a goal in the Final match is something I will never forget," he added.

After winning the UEFA Super Cup, Suarez believes this season will be even better for him, since his pre-season will give him the chance to perform correctly throughout the year.

"It's the first time in six years I've been able to do a proper pre-season. I feel ready to give everything to the team. Here, you have many players that can score goals, so all you have to do is work together with them. I'm truly blessed to play with such team-mates as Messi and Neymar," the Uruguayan concluded.

In their first year together, the three strikers set a new record for the most goals scored by any three players in La Liga's history.

Suarez scored a goal for Barcelona against Sevilla during the team's UEFA Super Cup victory over Sevilla last Tuesday. Don't miss the Super Copa de España with our detailed guide below.
