Los Merengues won't pay Manchester €40m for the Spanish goalkeeper. Van Gaal won't let him play until his situation is cleared up.

Real Madrid does not feel that the pressure is on them to sign David de Gea with less than three weeks left in the summer trasfer window. The team from Spain's capital believe that time plays in their favor when it comes to negotiating with Manchester United.

Los Blancos have made it clear that they won't be paying €40m to hire the Spanish goalkeeper who was born in Madrid. They will let time go on and hope that Manchester lowers the prize for the 25-year-old Spain International.

On the other side, Louis van Gaal has stated that the goalkeeper that used to be the starter for the Red Devils won't suit up for his team until his situation is cleared up. Last weekend, it was Sergio Romero who took his spot while De Gea was not even on the bench.

The Premier League side was expecting to get Sergio Ramos if the De Gea deal did not go through. Now the Spanish defender should be announcing a contract extension with Real Madrid by Monday. Pepe is also staying with Real Madrid for more time than expected.

This means that the team that seems to be against the ropes and with the clock ticking against them is Manchester United. They are eager to continue negotiating but want to get as much as they can for De Gea who did not make the trip to Aston Villa. With time, Los Blancos will continue to drop the price on him
