Reports suggest that the former Manchester United team-mates could play together again with the new Los Angeles Football Club in 2018.

The interest to sign more marquee players to play in the MLS keeps increasing, and the latest rumors point out one of the best societies in the EPL could be re-united once again. According to sources, former Manchester United team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney could team up once again in 2018, when the new LAFC franchise starts playing in the American top flight.

Sources indicate that Ronaldo, who is still under contract with Real Madrid until 2019, will be pitched the idea of joining the new franchise during the next years. Current plans state that CR7 is intended to be the team's first-ever signing, sort of what Orlando City did with Kaká before the team's debut season. Ronaldo's addition would strenghten the league in terms of marketing value, despite the fact that the Portuguese superstar would be 33 by then.

The other marquee signing for the Angelinos could be Wayne Rooney. The English captain, who usually spends his holidays in the United States, has recently been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, and being subject to a number of injuries year in and year out, a lucrative deal to move to the U.S. may be in his mind.

While both players could be approaching the twilight of their careers when the deal is done, their partnership would be one to attract fans in California. Together, CR7 and Rooney won three Premier League titles and one Champions League with the Red Devils. Only time will tell if they will be able to re-live those memories.
