Messi appeared in a video to the kids of the organization showing his contribution. La Pulga has been criticized for failing to win the World Cup and Copa America.

Lionel Messi has been facing a lot of criticism lately for not winning a major title with Argentina when he had the shot to win the World Cup in 2014  and the Copa America this past summer. Before the 2015-2016 season gets underway, La Pulga donated a big amount of money to UNICEF, something that should not be criticised.

The Argentinian star surprised the kids of "Un Sol Para los Chicos" campaign when he appeared in the video that they were seeing to make a special announcement. In the video, Messi claimed it was an honor to have the possibility to help the kids in need. The 28-year-old player made a donation of 4,500,000 Argentinian Pesos to UNICEF via his own foundation "Fundación Leo Messi".

This act of generosity has already been seen by over five million people around the world and will definitely give people a reason to appreciate what Messi does outside the field. There were rumours that Messi would quit the national team, but according to his manager, Gerardo Martino, that is not the case.

The Argentinian playmaker is gearing up for the Uefa Super Cup game on Tuesday against Sevilla. The players from the opposite team claim that they expect to see Messi at his best despite the season just starting. La Pulga even arrived at training camp four days ahead of schedule.
