Chelsea might have won the league last season, but do they have the most valued sponsor, too? We take a look...

After weeks and weeks of waiting, the moment we Premier League fans have been looking forward to has finally arrived, with the 2015/2016 campaign set to kick off on Friday, August 8th. Last season saw Chelsea win their first title in five years, and the Blues managed to stay at the top of the league table from the first round to their final game, an impressive feat considering the quality of the other top teams chasing them throughout.

Manchester United managed to secure a top four, and more important, Champions League-placed finish this time around. Although they will have to navigate the play-off rounds, it has perhaps brought some small measure of relief for Red Devils supporters who were left reeling following their team's failure to even qualify for the Europa League during the 2013/2014 season - the first time in 25 years that the English giants had to only contend with domestic football.

As England's "biggest" clubs - Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Liverpool - all look forward to featuring in the league and across the continent, we have taken an interesting look at some of the people behind these teams. After all, football is a business and a team is a global brand that would not be able to survive without securing investors. If one takes a look at one's favorite team's kits, you will certainly notice that many of them have some kind of corporate logo on it. Many of these corporations in fact, have made their money in not sports, but rather other industries, and ahead of the upcoming campaign, we take a quick look at which team has the most valued sponsorship deal.

1. Manchester United - Chevrolet - £47-50 million

Unless if one has been living in a remotely located cave, one surely would have heard of the car brand Chevrolet, which operates under the umbrella of American titans General Motors. Since the 2014-2015 season, the Red Devils have sported the car brand, but were contracted to Nike to produce their iconic kits. As of this season, it will be rivals Adidas, who signed a world-record 10 year deal worth a whopping £750 million.

2. Chelsea - Yokohama - £40 million

This past May, Chelsea celebrated their first title win since 2010 and this season will hope to make sure that they maintain their spot as England's number 1 side. Although the famed Blues kit will still be the same, fans will notice that it will no longer have Korean corporate giants Samsung on the front. Starting from this season, it will be Japanese company Yokohama, known for their tire production who will be sponsoring Chelsea until 2020. This is the second largest deal in the Premier League, only behind Manchester United's agreement with Chevrolet.

3. Arsenal - Fly Emirates - £30 million

Arsenal have been contracted with Middle Eastern corporation Emirates, of which the famed air fleet Fly Emirates operates under since 2006. This was also the same year that Arsene Wenger's men moved from Highbury's Arsenal Stadium into the new place they called home - also called Emirates - which seats over 60,000 fans. This long-standing deal between one of the world's most popular clubs and their corporate sponsors is worth a solid £30 million.

4. Liverpool - Standard Chartered - £25 million

Coming in fourth place is Liverpool's deal with British bank Standard Chartered, which was founded in 1969. The London-based financial outfit, who makes the bulk - about 90 per cent - of their profits from banking in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, signed a deal with the Reds in September 2009. The deal, which went into effect in July 2010, was reportedly worth £80 million at the time of signing and was supposed to run until the end of the 2013/2014 campaign. An extension, however, was signed in 2013 to carry the deal through the end of this upcoming season.

5. Manchester City - Etihad - £20 million

Manchester City may have finished as runners-up to Chelsea last season, but in terms of their sponsorship deal's worth for this season, the Citizens come in fifth. Etihad has been their kit sponsor since May 2009, the same year that Sheikh Mansour assumed ownership about four months later in September. During that time, they have won two Premier League titles and have quickly established themselves as one of the top teams in England - albeit their success has yet to spread to the continental stage.

6. Tottenham - AIA - £16 million

Since 2014, Tottenham's sponsor has been Chinese group AIA, which specializes in insurance. As of the 2015/2016 campaign, their kit sponsorship deal is valued at £16 million. Mauricio Pochettino's men, who finished in fifth place last season, will be competing in the Europa League this term and saw the rise of young English striker Harry Kane, who netted 21 times in the league and finished second to Sergio Aguero's 26.

Spurs fans will be happy that they so far have been able to hold onto Kane, who earned  the Player of the Month Award twice as well as was named in the PFA Team of the Year and the PFA Young Player of the Year as they hope to earn a top-four finish and Champions League football for the next term.
