Benteke scored in his debut with Liverpool. Suarez earned 23 MOTM awards while Benteke has 16.

Christian Benteke is one of the most talked about players in the English Premier League. The Belgian striker scored in his debut with Liverpool but he must build up on that, as many fans expect him to fill in the shoes of Luis Suárez, one of the best players that has ever played for Liverpool.

Benteke was with Aston Villa since he joined the league in 2012-2013. In 89 appearances, he scored 42 goals and delivered eight assists. In that time, the 24-year-old player earned the Man of the Month award a total of 16 times.

This was not a bad start for Benteke with Liverpool

On the other hand, El Pistolero earned the MOTM award a total of 23 times while playing for Liverpool. He had a total of 133 appearances for The Reds in all competitions, including 110 Premier League games. He started in 125 of those games and scored 82 goals while representing the team from Anfield.

For some, Suárez is irreplaceable, but Benteke makes them feel all right

Benteke has a conversion rate of 16.7%, while averaging 2.8 shots per game. This makes him a constant threat to any defense that Benteke stands against. One of the major weaknesses for either player is getting caught offside. They like to play on the edge and can be either one step in front or behind from where they need to be.

Move over, Benteke is taking #9

One of the biggest advantages for Benteke over Luis Suarez is his aerial game. The Belgian player is 1.90 mts tall while Suárez is nine centimeters shorter. The Uruguayan striker is a tad bit faster inside the box than his "replacement".

Thierry Henry knows a good striker when he sees one

At the end of the day, Suárez seems to be a better player, but that does not mean that Benteke can build on his already good form by surrounding himself with players like Mario Balotelli and the rest of Liverpool's stars. He has some big shoes to fill but what he already did with Aston Villa and in his first game with The Reds can make fans believe that something great could happen by having Benteke on their team.
