From Benitez’s weight to Montserrat Seara’s inability to control her husband’s weight, nothing was off the table for The Special One.

Knowing Jose Mourinho and the type of character the Portuguese boss possess, none expected him to remain silent in the face of Montserrat Seara scathing attack.

Seara, wife to Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez, blasted the Special One and his coaching disasters, saying in an interview with Spanish newspaper La Region: "Real Madrid are the third of Mourinho's old teams Rafa has coached. We tidy up his messes."

It didn’t take too long for the Chelsea boss to respond to her comments. Nothing was off the table for the former Porto tactician, with the 52-year-old taking aim at Benitez’s weight, and Seara’s inability to control her husband’s weight.

Jose, however, despite his below-the-belt attack, did raise two logical arguments; the fact that Rafa only succeeded him as coach at Inter Milan, and that the 55-year-old Spaniard went on to ruin his great work with the Serie A giants six months after arriving at San Siro.

"The lady is a bit confused," Mourinho said about Benitez’s wife, after the Blues’ penalty shootout triumph over Barcelona in the International Champions Cup.

"Her husband went to Chelsea to replace Roberto Di Matteo and he went to Real Madrid and replaced Carlo Ancelotti.

"The only club where her husband replaced me was at Inter Milan, where in six months he destroyed the best team in Europe at the time.

"If she takes care of her husband's diet, she will not have any time to talk about me."

This little war of words will go far to rock Mourinho and Benitez’s already shaky relationship, with the two coaches having previously butted heads during their time at Chelsea and Liverpool, respectively.

Benitez can now join a long list of managers in feud with the Chelsea boss, led by Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger.

Maybe this might lead the Real Madrid boss to sell Karim Benzema to the Gunners so Le Prof can beat a common enemy, as hinted by one man on Twitter.

That appears highly unlikely, though, with the Frenchman half way across the world.
