The Gunners dismantled Lyon 6-0 in their last outing and will be hoping for another positive outing when they face German side Wolfsburg. There were six different goal scorers on the night with Ramsey and Mesut Ozil standing out among the crowd. Olivier Giroud was the first to get on the score sheet after he guided Ozil's wonderfully crafted free kick to the back of the net.

Arsenal went on a goal frenzy from then onwards scoring four times in just a space of nine minutes. Chamberlain's exquisite finish made it 2-0 with youngster Iwobi scoring his first goal for the senior side in the next minute. The Arsenal youngster scored another soon enough but it was ruled out for offside. It did not take long for Arsenal to make up for it though as Ramsey and Ozil combined wonderfully to make it 4-0.

Ozil's half volley made it 5-0 after the break and Santi Cazorla rounded it up with an excellent free kick to make it 6-0 for the Gunners. Despite a very attacking display from his side, Arsenal have been hotly linked with a move for a striker and manager Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out a move should a viable opportunity arise.

"Let's not forget we scored in our recent games; three, four, six today. And we had not Welbeck, not Sanchez. That means we have an offensive potential," the Frenchman said.

"We want to add a few more goals than we did last year but I feel at the end of the season we created more chances and hopefully we can confirm that. Having said that, in the transfer market we are open minded. We are as well not in a desperate need."

Welsh star Aaron Ramsey is confident his side can challenge for the Premier League title this time around and is aiming to start the season brightly.

"Absolutely [Arsenal can challenge for the title]. We finished off the season really well last year. Hopefully now we can start the campaign as we left off and throw ourselves in contention early on.

"That's important because as we saw last year, Chelsea did not slip up at all and that's going to be important for us to start the season well. We have the players, we have the squad and hopefully we can keep everyone fit throughout the season and we'll have a great opportunity then."

Wolfsburg on the other hand suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Villarreal. There were early goals at the Emirates with the Spanish side striking first through Mario Gaspar. Wolfsburg soon equalized through Perišić but Leiva restored Villareall's lead in the 17th minute, thereby giving them a 2-1 win.

As things stand Arsenal are on top of the table with a victory coupled with a point for every goal scored giving them nine points.
