Real Madrid lost it's first preseason game in penalty kicks. Las time they played was in the 2013 Champions League and Madrid won 3-2.

Almost two years after their last meeting, Real Madrid and Manchester City will face off again in Melbourne, Australia. The last stop for both teams in the Land Down Under and the last chance for Real Madrid to escape Australia with a win in their bag. Rafa Benitez must show some improvement as a manager if he wants to shake off some of the pressure created around him after he lost to AS Roma.

Manchester City also had to go all the way to the penalty kicks with the Italian side. This time, Seydou Keita and company failed to win from the spot. Manchester City can come into this match having won their first pre-season game and doing it against the same team that Los Merengues failed to tame in their opening match.

One of the best things in that first game for Man City was the fact that Raheem Sterling scored just three minutes into the game. The former Liverpool midfielder could not have asked for a better debut with the Citizens. Even his former teammate Mario Balotelli was impressed.

Kelechi Iheanacho also had a solid performance against Roma with a goal from the center of the box to the top right corner when the second half was just starting. Both goalscorers did not take part in the penalty shootout as they were substituted out by Manuel Pellegrini before the 90 minutes ended.

Once again, Joe Hart had an impressive night. The English international stopper came in for Willy Caballlero in the second half, and while he received one goal as the game almost ended in regulation time, he got re-focused quickly and made big saves in the decisive stage of the game. Stopping Keita's shot gave Man City its first reason to smile before the season begins shortly.

Real Madrid is under a lot of pressure for this game even though the season has not even started. The team lost against AS Roma in their opening match of the International Champions Cup and critics were quick to point out Rafa Benitez as the man to blame for what happened on Saturday in his debut as Madrid's manager.

Gareth Bale may be able to play but he is definitely not 100%ready to deliver his best football yet. The Welshman has been dealing with a hip-strain since last season, and that problem returned on Sunday, and had him miss Monday practice. Benitez seems confident that he will play but can't figure out how much he will last.

Cristiano Ronaldo seems relaxed in training and a win would be even better for him an the team's morale as they will head to play in China after this game. The Portuguese striker is the big star in a entourage of more than 100 players and staff from Real Madrid that made the trip to Australia.

Keylor Navas does not want to hear what there is to be said about David de Gea joining the team or not. The goalkeeper from Costa Rica who decided to focus his efforts on winning the starting spot with Real Madrid did not find much to brag about except the fact that he now carries Madrid's #1 in his back. Newly incorporated Kiko Casilla is his biggest threat at the moment. The former Espanyol goalkeeper could have his debut in this game.
