EA Sports has finally revealed who will be joining Lionel Messi on the cover of FIFA 16. American striker Alex Morgan was elected to appear side-by-side with the Argentinean superstar, following the USWNT's victory in the recently concluded FIFA Women's World Cup.
Morgan will be the third women to appear on the cover of the game, after EA Sports determined Christine Sinclair from Canada and Stephanie Catley from the Australian National team. In a statemente released earlier today, the video game company revealed why they chose three women to appear on the cover.
"My team immediately recognized that Christine and Alex would be the perfect cover athletes based on their accomplishments,” stated David Pekush, EA Sports Marketing Director for North America.
Morgan spoke her mind about her election to grace the video game's cover via her Twitter feed.
