Mourinho addressed the social problems in Portugal that should not make soccer salaries a priority. Casillas is now on a two-year contract with Porto with the option of renewing for a third.

Iker Casillas and Jose Mourinho were not the best of friends in Real Madrid. Now that Casillas has signed with a Portuguese club, the Portuguese manager is not too happy with the salary the former Merengue stopper will be receiving.

Mou feels it should not be so high considering the problems that a country like Portugal faces on a daily basis. Chelsea's coach revealed why he did not feel good about clubs like Porto paying large sums to players like Casillas in an interview to "The Guardian".

"I think the market is inflated. I only have to look at what is happening in my own country," Mou said.

The Special One considers that money in Portugal should not be spent the way it does for soccer purposes. He claims that the population suffers from political and economic problems that should be prioritized when it comes to deciding what to use the money on.

"Sporting are paying millions for coaches and players," Mourinho added. "Porto pay €20m for Imbula, they give Casillas an amazing salary.

Mourinho started his career as a manager with Benfica in 2000 and moved to Porto from 2002 to 2004. The current manager of Chelsea has not made many changes to his roster, having Falcao as his only big signing of the summer.

"To go for somebody it's because I lose somebody," the 52-year-old manager said about the reasons for his quiet summer break.

Righ now the team is on a U.S. tour and Radamel Falcao will be joining them on Tuesday, after his post-Copa America vacation. The Blues are the reigning English Premier League Champions. They will be playing three games in American soil and one in London as part of the International Champions Cup.

Casillas will be earning an approximate 6,00 Mill. € with Porto. Jose Mourinho called that "an amazing salary" considering the social problems Portugal faces. Casillas was let out of Madrid on a free transfer fee and his contract with Porto links him with the club for the next two years.
