The reigning German champions will begin their pre-season campaign with a fixture against Valencia at the Beijing National Stadium on Saturday, the 18th of July. Check the live TV and online streaming broadcast listings for Bayern Munich vs Valencia below.

The Bavarians recorded their third successive title triumph last season but will be hoping for improvements in the European competitions when they kick start their preparations for the new season. The Bayern fans were at the receiving end of a heart breaking news as long serving midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger ended his 17 year long association with the club having joined Manchester United.

However the club is poised to replace him with the very talented Arturo Vidal with Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge hinting that the transfer is very close to be being completed.

"I can’t confirm Vidal’s signing – yet," the 59-year-old told Sky Germany. "We have to wait a bit.

"Michael Reschke [Bayern’s technical director] told me the truth about 2011: it was not the player but the club who blocked his move to Bayern.

"So, in the end, I hope Vidal will come to us. It is impossible that Vidal will join Bayern on our tour of China. Even the Bavarians can't sign a player that fast."

While Vidal is unlikely to join the club for their pre-season trip to China, Bayern's high profile signing  Douglas Costa is keen to make an early impact. The Brazilian was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk for €30 million  and is hopeful he can emulate teammate Franck Ribery. The 24 year old further spoke of his new coach Pep Guardiola claiming that the Spaniard has a lot of faith in him.

"Franck is an example to follow for me," the Brazilian said.

"I can learn a lot from a player like Franck. I have to stay grounded and work hard to improve myself.

"Only then might I one day be able to play like him."

"Guardiola has a lot of faith in me. He has told me to keep doing the same things I have always been doing."

Bayern will not be able to utilize the services of Arjen Robben who has withdrawn from the squad due to an injury. The Dutch international who missed the majority of the second half of last season was expected to make the cut but muscular problems have prevented him from making it to the squad.

Franck Ribery is another first team player on the injury list which also includes the likes of , Holger Badstuber, Dante and Jan Kirchhoff all of whom will be staying behind.

Valencia on the other hand are expected to be better prepared for the tie having already taken part in three pre-season matches the last of which ended 0-0 in full time, with Werder Bremen recording the win after penalties. In their previous matches, the Spanish side got the better of Southampton picking up a 1-0 victory and scored a resounding 4-0 victory over Wiener SK in their opening pre-season game.
