Manchester United had told Van Persie they would not need him by the end of last season. He has signed a three year deal with the Turkish team.

Robin Van Persie only had one summer to look for a team after Manchester United told him by the end of the 2014-2015 season that he was not in their plans for this upcoming year. Now, the Dutch striker has found a new home in Fenerbahce, which signed him for the next three years, paying £3.84m to get him there.

Van Persie will now join his former Red Devil teammate Nani in his new adventure in Turkey. The striker was unveiled on Tuesday and presented to fans the same day. He comes to Istanbul after having scored 58 goals in 105 games for Manchester United. One year ago he had been the captain of the Dutch team in the World Cup, a year later, his same coach told him to leave and now he has switched teams for a fourth time.

For the 31-years-old player, the move to Turkey does not mean his career is over as long as he can perform at his best. It is not the outside competition that matters, but what he can bring from within that could make him stay as a world-class player.

"I'm convinced that I can play for many years at a top level," RVP said. "I will show my passion and I will do everything in my power to make the fans happy."

Van Persie was presented to his new team in front of a crowd of 10,000 fans. He seemed happy to have found a place to continue playing soccer. He has now been a part of Feyenoord, Arsenal, Manchester United and Fenerbahce.
