The Argentinean superstar was heavily criticized for his lack of involvement during the second half of the final match against La Roja.

After being heavily criticized for his performance during the recently concluded Copa América, Lionel Messi shared his thoughts about losing the second final match of a major tournament with La Albiceleste in less than a year. Reports indicate that after Saturday's loss against Chile, Lionel Messi rejected the tournament's MVP award. Apparently, the Argentinean did not want to be subject to any criticism for being handed the trophy, just like in the past World Cup, where some experts did not agree with the Board's decision. Before the teams were given their medals, there were three trophies on the stage, and magically, someone took the supposed MVP award moments before the ceremony began.
