The home side has been hugely impressive so far and has made it to the final of the competition without tasting defeat.

Chile have mesmerized football fans with impeccable football in the competition so far and have cemented a well deserved place in the final of the competition where they are set to go against World Cup finalists Argentina. Here we look at various stats and numbers pertaining to Chile's road to the final.

1) Highest scorers

Chile are the tournament's top scorers having found the back of the net 13 times in just five games. Almost a third of these goals came in the match against Bolivia in which La Roja recorded a comfortable 5-0 victory.

Argentina come in second as far as the number of goals are concerned with their 6-1 thumping of Paraguay taking their tally to 10 goals for the campaign.

2) Scored in every game

Chile have scored a goal in every match they have played so far in the competition and have an advantage over Argentina in this regard who failed to register a goal during the Quarter-Final against Colombia.

Chile kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 win over Ecuador, following it with a 3-3 draw against Mexico, a 5-0 thumping of Bolivia, a 1-0 win over Uruguay in the Quarter-Final and then a 2-1 victory over Peru in the semi-final.

3) Different goal scorers

Chile have had six different goal scorers through the course of the campaign which includes the tournament's top scorer Eduardo Vargas who has four goals to his name. Followed by Juventus star Arturo Vidal who has three, Charles Aranguiz with two, with Alexis Sanchez, Gary Medel and Mauricio Isla having found the back of the net just once so far.

4) Most possession

Chile have been a nightmare for the opposition teams so far having managed an average possession of 70.8%, this is more than Argentina's average possession of 65.7%.

This partly might have been because of the relatively easier run of games which they have had, however it must not be undermined the manner in which Chile have dominated every other team in the competition.

5) Pass accuracy

The numbers show that Chile have arguably been the most threatening team going forward and this is once again confirmed by their pass completion rate which has been exceptional. La Roja have completed 86.9% of their passes in the competition, with the number slightly better than that managed by Argentina.

6) Goals conceded

Moving on to the defensive side of the game, Chile have conceded four times in the competition so far compared to Argentina who have conceded just one goal less than Jorge Sampaoli's side.

7) Clean Sheets

Chile have managed clean sheets in three out of their five matches and have shown more defensive resilience than they have been credited for.

8) Tackles and aerial duels

Chile have made the second fewest tackles in the competition per game (15.2). However this is partly because they have enjoyed so much possession that they were hardly ever required to win it back.
Reminiscent to this is also the statistic for the interceptions Chilean players have made per game (9.0) which is the third lowest in the competition.

Chile have never managed to win the Copa America and have been runners-up four times, most recently in 1987. This time around they will not be willing to settle for being second best despite of the opposition they are set to face.
