United States has not received a goal in over 400 minutes. Germany's Celia Sasic is the tournament's leading scorer with six goals.

The final is in sight for both Germany and the United States of America in this Women’s World Cup. These are the two best teams in the world according to the FIFA Rankings.

The U.S. has been the favorite to win every match up until now. They have picked up four wins and one draw since the competition began. In the last game, they overcame not having Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Holiday, two of their best players on the field due to a suspension.

The team learned against China that they could still create good chances without them. The team has scored seven goals and only received one. That may not be something to brag about against Germany, which has scored 20 goals and received three

Another positive aspect that the team managed by Jill Ellis figured from the game against China is knowing how Carli Lloyd, who scored the game-winning goal, can contribute to their offensive power. By giving her more freedom to attack, she can create chances. The U.S. created 13 in that game, more than in any other.

The Stars and Stripes are ready to attack

A player that has been phenomenal for the yanks is Hope Solo. The goalkeeper has silenced critics and opponents with four clean sheets this tournament. On the other side of the field, Alex Morgan has only scored one goal but could rise to the occasion in this vital game against Germany.

“It’s virtually a final. Germany are a great side. We’ve watched nearly all of their games, and they’re very strong in defense and dangerous in the air and with the ball at their feet,” Morgan said

Germany wants to stop the U.S. from reaching a second consecutive final. Their head-to-head record against the American side does not favor them (2-1),  but the current situation in the rankings and on the field does.

Scary stats prior to this game

No team has scored more goals than them. They were also the first ones to score on France and won their quarter-final game via the penalty kicks. While they are still undefeated, the French team exposed some of their weaknesses.

Germany is not a team that can move fast, they like to pass the ball around as much as they can before getting close to the opposite net. The United States could use their speed to surprise the Germans and break with their style. It was a tactic used by France and almost gave them the result they needed.

Germany has shown that they focus a lot on attack, that could open spaces for the United States on counter attacks. At the same time, they can create their opportunities from almost every place on the pitch.

Celia Sasic is the leading scorer of the tournament with six goals. She is the player that the American defense should keep their eye on. She should also be aware that this time it is Hope Solo who she has to beat in order to keep scoring.

Sasic is Germany's most dangerous player
