Gonzalo Jara has been suspended for the rest of the Copa America. Peru has more Copa America titles (2) than Chile (0).

Chile is one step away from reaching another final and hoping that they can win the Copa America for the first time. After having hosted the tournament six times, a seventh could be a charm for Jorge Sampaoli and his players. Right now, Peru is the team to beat and the one the Chilean manager wants his team to focus on.

Chile comes into this game undefated. Yes, they have suffered in almost every game but they have not lost a game. In the game against Uruguay,it took them 83 minutes to find the goal that knocked out the defending champions.

In the process, they have lost Gonzalo Jara due to an incident with Edinson Cavani. Cavani was the one that left the game with a red card, but a further investigation into the incident revealed that the Chilean defender had been provoking the Paris Saint Germain striker. Jara has been suspended for three games.

This is considered to e the bes Chilean team in a very long time. Their quality starts from their goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo, who was the best in La Liga and has only performed under expectations against Mexico. Their midfield is controlled by Arturo Vidal, who was a key element in the success of Juventus this past season. Up front, Alexis Sanchez is the key player, but while he struggles to find a rythm, his teammates have stepped up to help.

La Roja has scored 11 goals in four games and only received three. Making them the team with the best offensive stats in the competition so far. Only Argentina and Colombia have received less goals than what they have against them.

Peru can't brag about that but they are also worth semi-finalists. The team managed by Ricardo Gareca earned their spot in this game by defeating Bolivia 3-1. Historically, Peru is also a better team, having won the Copa America twice, while his opponent still doesn't know what it feels to be the champion of CONMEBOL.

La Bicolor has scored five goals and conceded three. The only game they lost was in their debut against Brazil and that was a close one. That has been the only game Peru has lost in their last five games. They must try to hold back in their physical game. They have commited more fouls than Chile (80) and have more yellow cards (12) as well.

Chile leads the chart in head-to-head encounters. La Roja has won four of the last five games played between both teams. The host nation has also won all but one semi-final game in the history of the Copa America. The last time Chile made it this far was in 1999. In 2011 Peru finished in third place after defeating Venezuela.
