Match Airs Tonight, Fri., June 26 at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT; Followed By England vs. Canada Tomorrow, Sat., June 27 at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT; Escena Deportiva Airs Tonight At 9:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. PT on NBC UNIVERSO

Tonight on NBC UNIVERSO, tensions will mount as the U.S. and China square-off in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT.  On Sat., June 27, England and Canada will battle in their quarterfinal match.

For the China vs. USA telecast this evening, the commentators providing the expert play-by-play and color commentary with a distinctive Latin flavor will be veteran soccer announcer Sammy Sadovnik, who has covered countless soccer events including five World Cups; and former Mexican national soccer team superstar Carlos Hermosillo, who is one of the top all-time goalscorers for the Mexico Men’s National Team.

And on Saturday night, for the England vs. Canada game, delivering insights, analysis and prognostications that Latin soccer fans appreciate will be Copán Álvarez, a seasoned sportscaster who has had experience covering the South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cups, and Frederik Oldenburg, from Telemundo Las Vegas.

Both quarterfinal matches can also be enjoyed on NBCDeportes.com and the NBC Deportes en VIVO EXTRA mobile app.

Tonight’s game sets the stage for a long-awaited rematch of China vs. USA in the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup final held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. That game ended in a scoreless tie after extra time, but was won by the USA in a penalty shootout. At the time, that match was the most-attended women's sports event in history.

For the USA to advance, they’ll have to do it without standouts Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Holiday, who will miss the game due to yellow card accumulation. The winner of this game will advance to play the winner of the Germany vs. France quarterfinal contest that will also be played later today.

Tomorrow, Sat., June 27, NBC UNIVERSO will also telecast the England vs. Canada quarterfinal game beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT. Host country Canada has not played well against European competitors in World Cup competition. Its victory over Switzerland during the round of 16 last week was its first ever. Its previous record was a dismal 0-9-1 heading into that match. The British have never played past the quarterfinals stage in World Cup competition.

Following tonight’s contest, NBC UNIVERSO will air a new episode of its live signature sports show for Latinos, Escena Deportiva, which will recap the match as well as deliver the latest breaking news, the most-compelling stories from the superstar athletes of today and tomorrow, and everything else viewers need to know from the world of sports twice a week: on Friday nights and on Monday nights.
