James Rodriguez scored six goals in the World Cup but is empty handed so far in the Copa America. The player has not time to rest in over a year.

One goal and average performances have been enough for Colombia to make it past the group stage round and get into the quarter-finals. The big star for Colombia has gone mostly unnoticed and former goalkeeper Rene Higuita blames physical fatigue as the reason for Rodriguez recent performances.

The team led by Jose Pekerman they will need to have improved a lot by now if they want to leave Argentina behind when they meet at the Sausalito Stadium in Viña del Mar. The Real Madrid midfielder could use this game as the place to show the world why Real Madrid signed him right after the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

Rodriguez is coming off a good season with Los Merengues with which he won the Club World Cup in December. Then he had an injury during the beginning of 2015 and was away from the fields for almost 60 days. He came back and continued to prove his value for what was Carlo Ancelotti's team.

Now, after not having much time off in more than a year, Higuita believes that James is starting to feel the signs that any human would after so much activity. Something that fans and analysts may not really look into, expecting him to behave like a machine game after game.

"A player also needs a rest, and he has not had one, so he is more tired," Higuita said. "That is my opinion, I do not know what James thinks."

It was almost one year ago when James Rodriguez scored his wondergoal against Uruguay in the World Cup. A goal where he controlled the ball with his chest and with an incredible volley from outside the big box, sent it to the back of the net. Today, he is making rounds around the internet for his kind gesture with a little kid.
