Chile had a hard time breaking the Uruguayan defense, but a late goal has them one victory away of reaching the final match for the first time since 1987.

A lonely goal by Mauricio Isla was enough for Chile to make it through to the next round in the 2015 Copa América. Queens Park Rangers'  defender became the hero for La Roja after breaking the deadlock with nine minutes to go in the game, as Chile reaches the semi-final stage for the first time since the 1999 edition.

The first 45 minutes saw two sides that did not concede one inch without fighting for it, making tension increase as minutes went by. After the 65th minute mark, Edinson Cavani was sent off by the referee after slapping Gonzalo Jara's face. What the Brazilian ref didn't know was that Jara provoked Cavani, sticking his middle finger right in the middle of Cavani's buttocks. After that, Chile had the best chances of scoring, and Jara's right-footed shot drilled into Fernando Muslera's net, creating chaos inside the Estadio Nacional de Santiago.

Chile will face the winner of the quarter-final match between Perú and Bolivia, which will be held tomorrow.
